Nasceu em Vila do Conde (1990). Estudou Design de comunicação na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto e realizou o mestrado em Fotografia profissional no Istituto Europeo di Design de Madrid. Foi aí que iniciou contacto com a indústria de fotografia, tendo tido como professores fotógrafos e editores como Ricardo Cases, Martin Parr, Cristina de Middel, Paul Moakley, entre outros.

Uma personagem de um livro de Mia Couto descreve como se apercebe que não era suficiente ver o mundo, queria ver como via o mundo. Essa passagem tocou-a e fê-la perceber que a fotografia era o seu modo de expressão. A fotografia é a base para as suas narrativas, é através dela que tenta descobrir, explorar e apresentar a realidade que a envolve.

No seu trabalho, motivam-na as histórias das pessoas, a memória, a família, a paisagem e a relação do ser humano com o espaço.

Agindo muitas vezes por intuição, procura representar sentimentos, emoções e modos de viver, ver e apreender distintos.

Foca o seu trabalho na fotografia editorial e documental e tem sido publicada nas revistas Fotoroom, Gup, i-D, Ignant, entre outras. O seu trabalho também tem sido seleccionado para várias exposições de grupo online em revistas como a Ain’t Bad, F-stop e Float magazine e no Lethes Art Festival em Ponte de Lima (Portugal).

Inês Marinho (b. 1990) is a photographer from Vila do Conde, Portugal.

She studied Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and holds a master degree in Professional Photography at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid. It was here that she made contact with the photography industry, attending classes with photographers and editors such as Ricardo Cases, Martin Parr, Cristina de Middel, Paul Moakley, among others.

A character in a book by Mia Couto describes how she realizes it was not enough to see the world, she wanted to see how she saw the world. This passage touched her and made her realize that photography was her way of expression and the basis for her narratives. It is throughout photography that she tries to discover, explore and present the reality that surrounds her.

In her work, she is motivated by people’s stories, memory, family, landscape, and the relationship of the human being with his environment. Often proceeding by intuition, she seeks to represent feelings, emotions and ways of living, seeing and learning differently.

She focuses her work on editorial and documentary photography and has been published in magazines such as Fotoroom, Gup, i-D, Ignant, among others. Her work has also been selected for several online group exhibitions in magazines such as Ain't Bad, F-stop and Float magazine and at the Lethes Art Festival in Ponte de Lima (Portugal).
